About these terms

These terms govern your use of the Baku app and this website, both operated by Mosaic Analytics LLC, trading as Baku Science, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Using Baku means you accept them.

You must be 18 or over

Baku is not intended for children, and it is not designed to be used by anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, email us and it will be deleted.

Baku is pre-release software

Baku is currently distributed as a private beta through TestFlight. Pre-release software changes without notice: features may be added, altered or withdrawn, scores may be recalculated as models improve, and interruptions are more likely than in a finished product.

Keep your own copy of anything you would be sorry to lose. Settings → Export my data will produce one at any time.

Baku is not medical advice

Baku is a wellness and analytics tool. It is not a medical device, it is not regulated as one, and it cannot diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.

Much of what it shows you is estimated rather than measured — VO₂max is inferred from heart-rate response, sleep staging from a wrist or a finger approximates what a clinical sleep study would score, and biological age is a model output, not a laboratory result. Always speak to a qualified clinician before making a health decision, and never delay seeking care because of something Baku showed you.

Your account

You sign in with Apple, and you are responsible for activity under your account. If you believe someone else has used it, tell us as soon as you can at support@bakuscience.com.

Your data stays yours

You keep ownership of your health and personal data. By using Baku you give us a limited licence to process it for the sole purpose of providing the analytics described in the app — nothing else. We do not sell it, share it, or use it for advertising.

Mosaic Analytics is not a healthcare provider or a health plan, so HIPAA does not apply to this relationship. That does not lessen our obligations under the Privacy Policy, which describes exactly what we hold and why.

You can export everything or delete everything from inside the app, at any time, without asking us.

Acceptable use

Please do not reverse engineer the app, scrape it with automated tools, interfere with the service, or try to reach parts of the infrastructure that are not yours. Do not use Baku to provide medical services to anyone else.

Intellectual property

The Baku app, its name and logo, its design, and the analytics models behind it belong to Mosaic Analytics LLC and are protected by intellectual property law. Your data is not ours; the software is not yours.

Third-party services

Baku reads Apple Health, and connects directly to Oura if you choose to link it. Data from a Garmin, an Apple Watch or most other trackers reaches Baku through Apple Health. Your use of those products is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, not ours, and we are not responsible for what they do or fail to do.

The app is distributed through Apple. Apple’s own terms apply to that distribution, and Apple is not responsible for Baku.

What it costs

Baku is free during the beta. If paid plans are introduced later, existing users will be told before anything is charged, and nothing you have already installed will start billing you without your explicit agreement.

Ending it

You can stop using Baku whenever you like: delete your data in the app, then remove it from your phone. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, or if we discontinue the service — in which case we will give reasonable notice so you can export your record first.

No warranties

The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any figure it produces is accurate for you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Mosaic Analytics LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of Baku, including any decision you make on the basis of what it showed you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Utah, and any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts of Salt Lake County, Utah.

If part of this is unenforceable

If any clause here is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about your use of Baku.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will say so in the app or by email rather than quietly reposting the page. Continuing to use Baku after a change means you accept it.
